We construct feature like; small walkways, outdoor fire places, built-in BBQ’s, patios with fire pits, and planting plans that are full of interest!

We have produced hundreds of garden designs, plantings and hardscape plans since 2006. Our growing portfolio and construction experience helps ensure job quality, aesthetics, and customer satisfaction!

OUR PROCESS

At Design Works, our landscape architects value the ingenuity that is necessary to produce a beautiful and creative garden, landscape, and/or outdoor living space that is reasonably priced and constructed efficiently. Our process involves a detailed design that combines your vision with our professional expertise, and includes the necessary revisions it takes until your landscape has the look you wish for. The detailed plan and/or 3D garden / patio garden design plan also acts as the blueprint for creating an exact plan of action during construction. We are confident that you will be happy with the highly anticipated look of the garden even before construction begins. We find that this process also eliminates costly revisions after construction has begun, and that we can ensure the building process will move in a timely manner. Lastly, exceptional communication with our clients is key. We want to make sure that your dream landscape is constructed just as it is designed and that your investment is guaranteed. So, if you are considering an outdoor project, please don’t hesitate to contact Design Works, a design / build firm. We really look forward to helping you achieve your landscape garden design goals.

JIM DINOVO, ASLA, PRESIDENT

Jim is a New Hampshire native and a 1998 graduate of Londonderry High School. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He founded Design Works in 2006 and has over 20 years of experience in designing, building and managing residential and

commercial landscape projects. Jim’s skill is unique in that he has the ability to generate plans for the most simplistic and stylish front walkways to the most intricate backyard pool designs and patio spaces, and then build them well. Under his leadership, the Design Works Team has won awards including Gold in the “outdoor living space” and “landscape design” categories from the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire and has been featured in the Belgard Hardscapes Catalogue. As Design Works steadily grows each and every year, Jim’s passion and dedication to his clients and the field of Landscape Architecture and construction grows with it.

“My passion for the landscape and hard work began as a child, when my sister and I spent summer weekends in Albany, New York working with our Grampa and Grandma in their family Greenhouse. We would spend hours filling empty flats with soil and seeds. After a hard day’s work, Grampa would squash a tomato and rub it our hands to wash off the dirt. Gardening inspired me. Later in life, my love for the garden translated into my love for plants and what they are capable of in many different environments. My career was also initially inspired by my mom, Karen DiNovo. She is a talented artist who specializes in portraiture inspired by still life, wildlife and landscapes. Being a witness to her craft taught me the basics of art and artistic media. Naturally, when it was time to choose a career, I knew it had to provide a balance between gardening and art. Landscape Architecture has been the perfect outlet. I feel fortunate to be able to draft up creative landscape designs and to use my many years of construction experience to do a really good job building our client’s vision.”

JENNIFER DINOVO, ASLA, PLA, PRINCIPAL

Jennifer is a third-generation Landscape Architect with 20 years combined experience in planting design, site planning, graphics, and landscape construction. Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from UMASS Amherst. Jennifer is a registered landscape architect in New Hampshire and

Massachusetts and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Jennifer’s professional way of thinking uses her education, expertise, and time spent learning about plants in her own garden to enhance small-scale residential projects with smart, innovative, and thoughtful design.

“My love for the landscape stems from a whole family of landscape enthusiasts. Working in a family business comes natural to me because I grew up learning and appreciating the landscape craft from my granddad (registered LA), dad, and uncles. As a youngster, I had the pleasure of sitting on Grandad’s lap at his drawing table and having my dad quiz me on the latin names of trees as we’d walk along hiking trails. As a teenager, I worked with the boys doing construction and learning about the characteristics of specific plants, natural stone patios, installing lighting, irrigation, etc. These days, Jimmy and I love spending a lot of time working in our own garden and exploring the White Mountains with our daughters and son.”
